Wayne C. Melin
January 21, 1940 ~ January 13, 2016
Age 75 of Forest Lake. Passed away peacefully with family at his side at JA Wedum Hospice Center on January 13, 2016. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Bernice (Bunny) Melin; and his favorite pet sheltie, Tillie. He will be deeply missed by loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Mickey Melin; daughters, Kim (Dan) Zimmerle, Kay (Christopher) Lambert; son, Kurtis; brother, Jerry Melin; grandchildren, Ashley Alysa Zimmerle, Kadin Melin, Cody Juneau; also his special family, Helen Ronald King, their daughter, Shona, and son, Christopher Schrom. Waynes greatest love was fishing and reading books, and he had a passion for his work at Guidant, his farm, and shared family resort. A Celebration of Waynes life will be 3 PM Friday, January 22nd at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, 555 SW Centennial Dr., Forest Lake, with a visitation from 1:30 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
I know how much Jeanne loved her Brother in Law Wayne; I can only imagine all the hearts he touched in his 75 years on our earth. I always enjoyed his company, a wonderful fellow who will be missed by many. My thoughts are with his family and friends. May the memories of Wayne warm your hearts as you mourn his passing today.
Marsha and I had the same thought of a memory of Wayne. He laughed with his whole being, a joyous outburst that carried you along for the ride. Rest well our friend. Say hi to Steve and Lowell.
I worked side by side with Wayne for many years and even took a few Boundary Waters fishing trips with him. Because of him and his mentoring, I was able to grow and advance my own career. I will always remember him as a kind, respectful and gentle man. RIP my friend.
