W. Duane Ness

Age 77 of Hugo. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 13, 2016. Duane was a man of strong faith in God, and was devoted to family. Survived by wife of 55 years, Margaret; children, Heidi (Troy) Darrin, Chad (Julie), grandchildren, Jotham (Lana) Darrin, Blake Darrin, Heather Darrin, Kylie Ness, Katelyn Ness; siblings, Marlene (Bill) Gorder, Keith Ness, Joyce Evenson; sister-in-law, Nancy Ness; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brother, Gilbert Ness. Funeral service 12 Noon Tuesday, January 19th at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, 555 SW Centennial Dr., Forest Lake, with visitation one hour prior. Interment, Elim Cemetery, Scandia.
I worked under Duane’s leadership for several years. He was one of the most honorable men I have ever known. He truly was a devoted man of God who loved his wife and family dearly. He was a mentor to me and I will never forget him. My blessings to his precious wife and family.

One of my first memories of Duane as a young girl, was when my parents, Gordon and Dorothy and I went to visit Duane a his job at a clothing store in Fargo, and he gave me a new coat. I was so excited, and remember thinking what a kind man he was. I grew up seeing his Godly character throughout his life. I will miss him.
