Vivian J. Williams

October 2, 1918 ~ May 6, 2014
Vivian Jeanette Anders Williams was born on October 2, 1918 in Litchfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter and Mary Anders. She was raised on a farm with six brothers and graduated from Litchfield High School. On September 18, 1942, she married her hometown sweetheart, Harold, in Coeur dAlene, Idaho. Vivian spent her life devoted to her husband, her three children and their families. She loved cooking, gardening, crafting, volunteering and was always active in her church. Vivian was a gracious hostess and loved entertaining family and friends. She spent 20 golden years of retirement in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas before returning to Minnesota in 2005. Losing her husband after 70 years of marriage, she spent the last year of her life at Gracewood Senior Living in North Branch, Minnesota. As age caught up with her, bringing with it the challenges of living with diminished sight and poor hearing, she continued to set an example of aging with dignity and grace. Vivian passed away peacefully on May 6, 2014 with her family by her side. Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. Vivian was a sweet, gentle soul and will be missed by all. She was greeted in heaven by her husband, Harold; parents, Walter and Mary (Carlson) Anders, five brothers, and son-in-law, Dennis Briguet. She is deeply missed by her children, Dick (Heather) Williams, Janet Briguet (Mike Kolodjski), and Alan (Cammy) Williams; 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Vernon Anders; many other family and friends. Vivians family would like to thank Gracewood Senior Living and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and support. A memorial service to honor Vivians life will be at 11:30 AM Friday, May 9th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake with a gathering beginning at 10:30 AM until time of service. A private family interment will be held in Acacia Park Memorial Gardens, Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Memorials preferred.

Many happy memories of Vivian and Harold coming into our store( Carlisle Store) There was always smiles and stories. One winter my Mom and Dad went to visit them, and they had a great time. What a great lady… Cathy Carlisle
It’s hard to believe she’s really gone. It felt as though both Mom and Dad would be around forever to offer support and I now believe they always will be. Free from pain and suffering, they’re both together now still offering their guidance and love.
Thank you Mom for being my Mom.
I Love You.
I have so many wonderful memories of my Nana. My favorites times with her as a child growing up were summer visits to her house on the lake. She always had warm donuts made in the mornings and was always so cheerful and loving. She loved to treat her grandchildren to ” buster bars,” and I can remember running downstairs to the freezer to indulge in her yummy treats. One of the things I admired the most about Nana was her gentle and kind spirit. To me, she exemplified the life of a devoted Christian woman. She walked the walk daily. I find comfort in my total assurance that she is in the arms of her Savior now, and I know she heard ” well done, my good and faithful servant”. I love you, Nana. Rest in peace!
My favorite memory of Vivian was looking forward to family reunions when she always brought her delicious homemade donuts. She was always so happy and sweet. I will truely miss her. Nancy Anders Callender
