Vahit Anafarta
December 27, 1921 ~ November 8, 2015
Age 93 of Forest Lake, passed away surrounded by family on November 8, 2015. Preceded in death by wife, Fazilet. Survived by son, Orman (Lori) Anafarta; grandsons, Tev, Alex, and Trevor Anafarta. A luncheon to celebrate Vahits life will be 12 Noon Friday November 13th at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, 555 SW Centennial Dr., Forest Lake, with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment, Elim Cemetery in Scandia.
I did not know Vahit well, but he was always a good neighbor to my friends, for many many years. He always had a smile and genuine friendliness. Such a very nice and good person. My sincere sympathies to the family. He was a good one.
I have rare, pale memories of Vahit Amca and Fazo Teyze. They were good friends of my family (MD.İlhami Ercan & Sibel Ercan) from İstanbul. Besides, he was my father’s mentor, my moms obstetrician and was the one that delivered me. They will always remembered.
I did not get to know Dr. Vahit Anafarta aside from the first few moments of my life. My parents have always admired him as a medical practitioner and what a distinguishged person he was. Him being the first person who welcomed me to this world, I feel indebted to him. Not only that, I proudly carry his name Vahit as my other name or as we call it in Turkish “göbek adı”. Though belated many years, I present my condolences to his family.
