Steven "Steve" P. Galloway

A lifelong fixture of the Spring Lake Park, Fridley, and Brooklyn Park areas, Steve Galloway left an indelible mark on his community and the local industry. He spent the majority of his career as a commercial garage door service technician, a demanding profession where his skill was matched only by his personality. Through decades of hard work, Steve didn’t just fix doors; he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of countless acquaintances across the trade before his retirement. Central to everything Steve did was his deep faith in Jesus, a quiet strength that guided his path and anchored him through life’s trials. Outside of work, he felt most free on wheels, holding a lifelong love for roller skating and rollerblading. Steve was remarkably creative and intuitive, mastering the art of practical problem-solving as he aged—most notably designing ingenious, custom modifications around his home to maintain his independence despite ongoing back pain.

Steve’s heart belonged firmly to his family. He shared a profoundly close and tender bond with his daughter, Shelly, who will forever carry the warmth of being his “daughter dear.” In his later years, Steve carried a deep, quiet yearning for reconnection with Joe, Chris, and Jerry, keeping them close in his thoughts and prayers. He will be remembered as a man of resilience, mechanical brilliance, deep affection, and steadfast faith.
