Age 79 of Forest Lake. Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 14, 2015. Preceded in death by husband, Gene; son-in-law, Mike Gemeiner; granddaughter, Katie Pelgrine; siblings, Vernon Rylander, Margie Hahn, Lois Horn, Jean Applequist. Survived by daughters, Shannon (Stu) Dunn, Lori (Bill) Jeans, Heidi (Lee) Falck, Angie (Randy) Karpik; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Shawn, McKenzie, Taylor, Josh, Jake, Jory, Jamie, Molly, Aimee, Mike; great-grandchildren, Declan, Quinn, Nolan, Malaika, Jordan, Lydia, Ivy, Willow, Lochlan, Levi. A Celebration of Shirleys Life will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 17th at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 N Shore Dr, Forest Lake, with a visitation beginning at 1 PM until time of service. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake.
To the family and dear friends, I am very sorry for your loss. I would like to extend my condolences and please share a scripture for comfort. “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4) Continue to love and support one another, especially during this time. And “the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts.” (Philippians 4:6,7) With deep sympathy.
I just learned that Shirley had passed away and want to express my sympathy. She was a dear high school friend and I was a bridesmaid at her wedding. We had so many good times together at Chi Hi. She will be missed.
I worked with Shirley when my boys were in Forest Lake Elementary and she did so much for the students and their parents. She was always helpful and kind and will be missed. May she rest in peace.
We will miss you, neighbor.
