  1. I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. Death is something that humans were never meant to experience, the pain that we experience when we lose a loved one is something that is simply unnatural. Psalms 37:29 says 29 “The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.” God’s original purpose for humankind was to live forever in a paradise earth with no sickness or death. An “abundance of peace” as psalms 37:10 brings out. Though the world we love in is horrible and we experience pain on a daily basis there is some good news, the bible promises something truly amazing at revelation 21:4 it says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” So death, sickness, pain and every kind of sorrow will be wiped out but what about those who have already died? John 5:28,29 says of those ones “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” So these ones will be resurrected to an earth filled with peace. 2. I remember working with Russ at sterling electric in the 80’s, and 90’s. We were both young. He would tell me about His Moose hunting trips.

The last time I saw Russ, We were both working out at the Monticello nuclear Plant in the Winter of 2013

I always got along with Russ, and was happy to see Him. Sorry to hear about His passing

My profound condolences to the Meyer Family.. Charlie

  3. My sincere condolences to the family of Russell A. Meyer – I am sorry to hear of your loss. It was never the Creator’s purpose for mankind to suffer (Romans 5:12). In the Bible we are promised a time when no one will say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). I hope you are comforted by the “God of all comfort” who promises to comfort us (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). I hope you find peace in many Bible promises (John 17:3).

  4. Patty, Dan, Brian, Megan and Abby.
It has taken me a while to muster up the courage to even visit this page and it is with great sadness that I do so.
I have been trying my best to think of which of my memories best represents Russ. The Marine corps has a saying: there is the right way, the wrong way or the Marine way.So it went with Russ, The right way, the wrong way or the Russ Meyer way. Heaven help you if you disagreed with his way. But that is what made Russ who he was, never flinching, tough to compromise and always self confident. When thinking about what memories I could share about Russ the task seemed to big, leaving me to wonder what specific memories I should share. Should I share memories about the fisherman, hunter, woodsman, electrician, mechanic, gymnast or even pole vaulter? Not to mention his wicked driving skills. Anybody who has driven as a passenger with Russ can a test to his intensity while driving.
I guess my favorite memory is simple where the are all combined, it is that of my oldest friend who will be missed by me for the rest of my life. My he find the peace and happiness in heaven that seemed to have alluded him here on earth.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers of myself, Fran and family are with you all.
My god keep and comfort you

  5. Patty, Dan, Brian, Megan and Abby. You have my deepest sympathy and my thoughts and prayers are with you. May God grant you strength and peace in the days and weeks ahead.

  6. I am truly sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t have the privilege of meeting Russ in person from the tributes to him I can tell that he truly was just a nice guy all around. I have personally found much comfort from Acts 24:15 where it speaks of there being a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous . I hope these thoughts and scriptures provide a measure of comfort.

  7. Patty, Danny, Brian, Megan and Abby, We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Russ. May you have many wonderful memories to hold dear. I remember the train under the christmas tree and how proud he was to set it up every year for the holidays. Share the many memories that you have and hold them dear

  8. To Patty, Danny, Brian, Megan and Abby, we am so very sorry for you loss, may you hold the good memories close to your heart. Russ was a dear neighbor, that had a heart of gold, with attitude. He wanted the neighborhood neat, perhaps to a fault, he made sure everyone was plowed out in the winter, and in the summer he shared the bounties of his garden. He made a mean Salsa, but would not share the recipe. Attitude! He loved his children, he wanted to make sure they were safe, so you best not drive over 20 mph down our road or you would have Russ to deal with. Attitude! Ah, but if you needed help with anything Russ would be there, and he passed that unto his children. To me that is Russ’ true legacy….the thoughtfulness, the servitude that he passed on to his beautiful children. You are all in our thoughts and my prayers.
