Those who knew Dick will describe him as an honest, hardworking man who loved his family and friends. In addition to his unique qualities that will make him unforgettable to all of us, Dick was also an astute entrepreneur, building C.G. Hill and Sons of Mounds View, MN into a successful small family business. Though it ended too quickly, Dick lived a full and wonderful life. He loved to hunt, fish, and joke around. He was an avid Texas Holdem player and enjoyed his poker pals. Dick was a hunting guide at Wild Wings game farm for many years and had many stories to share. He and his wife, Tootsie would celebrate 52 years of marriage this August; their lives together were filled with love and adventure. Whether it was fishing, a cruise, the casino or a simple car trip, Dick always made it memorable. He will be sadly missed. Dicks greatest source of pride was his family. He is survived by his loving, wife Tootsie; children, Russ (Lauri) Hill, Patti (Eric) Olson, and Susie Hill. He beamed with pride when he was with his grandchildren, Alex, Tony, and Carter Hill, Hannah, Jacob and Lucas Olson, and Jada Hill. He is also survived by step-mother, Betty Hill; and siblings, Robert (Dianna) Hill and Sharon (Jerry) Krogman, along with many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by parents, Clayton G. Hill and Shirley (Pat) Hill, and infant, brother Mickey. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday, June 19th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 - 4th St. N., Stillwater, MN. A celebration of Dicks life will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 20th at Trinity with visitation beginning at 9 AM. Interment Withrow Cemetery. Whether you knew him as Dick, Dad, Grandpa, you knew a wonderful man. He continues to live through all of us. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Red Cross - Tornado Relief Fund.
I can’t even begin to imagine the depths of your sorrow right now. It was obvious that Dick cared deeply and connected quickly with everyone he met ~ even if it was just the Grandkids of one of his friends! 🙂 My girls have lovely memories of fishing with “Dickie” and he was an incredible friend to my Dad. Our thoughts and prayers are and will be with you in the difficult days ahead.
Our sincerest condolences to the Hill Family
Tootsie and family — please know my heart aches for your loss. I remember the two of you, high school sweethearts, sweethearts in life’s journey, and always smiling. May God our Father heal your hurt and may your smiles return. Know your friends, even the old ones, are here for you. Keeping you in my prayers!
I offer my deepest sympathy to the family of Richard at this difficult time. May you be comforted by the promise of the resurrection and the end of sickness and death forever. God makes this wonderful promise to us at Revelation 21:4 where it reads, “And he will wipe out ever tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I hope these words are of some consolation.
Hi, Tootsie and family,
So sorry to hear about Dick, Jan and myself will not be able to attend the services as I just had surgery, and not up to being out and about yet. Bless you all, and may God be at your side.
Love, Dick and Jan Schwartz

I am so sorry for your loss. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. You can also find comfort in the Bible. Many find 1Corinthians 15:21-26 and Revelation 21:4 very comforting.

Dear Tootsie, Russ, Lauri, Patti, Eric, and Susie and families: so very sorry about sweet Dick. He was just the most jovial kind man who could talk to anyway. Lauri always shared such wonderful stories about him. He is happy now in heaven with Raven and the angels. love, Deanna and Tom (Lauri’s sister)
