Dear Barb and family-death is always a sad tragedy and no one can experience this sadness as you do. For your feelings are unique and very personal to you. I have known you and Paul for a few years and when I would walk down your road to your house there was always a peacefulness that I can not describe when I approached your home. I always looked forward to seeing you and Paul. The memories of Paul will always be in our heart.
Love,
Elisa
I loved and resprected Paul for his friendship and his abilities. I wish I could have had many more years of appreciating both. He will be greatly missed.
a chance meeting at an airport and over a hamburger and hot sauce a friendship began.we had a lot of laughs and good times on that vacation -can’t forget frank and his flan – how we laughed. some might say it is a strange friendship, because except for frank we were never to be together again. but friendship it was and is. you will be rembered with happy memories ’til we meet again. judy, frank and scott
Paul was the best friend, a man could have. Always true to his word and you knew where you stood. He was always straightforward to the point. I thank God for the time that I had with him. He was my buddy. God has a good man with now. Thank you for being my friend.
Paul, I had the pleasure of knowing you thanks to Steve. He bragged about your spaghetti from the start and I was lucky enough to experience it a few times! He was right, it was delicious! And that salad dressing…better than any restaurant!! I am blessed to have known you and your family, it was clear to me you and Barb were made for each other. I’m thankful you are no longer in pain, you didnt deserve any of it! Thanks for the smiles, you will be missed!!
Cathy -I will never forget the wonderful man your dad was. Your family has always made me feel welcome and I am lucky to have known him. I can still hear your dad say to me….”Perkins, if you trip and fall I’m going to keep going and walk right over you”! I love you all and remember you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I just want to add, that Paul was always a fun guy to b around no matter what, he always had some funny story to tell, he was a craftsman at his trade, second to none, he visited our hot rod shop periodically to to say hi, he will b missed by all of us here at the shop, happy motoring, till we meet again
Barb, thank you too for always being at his side no matter what over nearlky 50 years. You are one impressive lady. I feel so blessed to have spent quality time with him on his birthday. Paul was a very special friend to me that seemed to come into my life, not that many years ago, as a gift to me. Thank you God and may your family be blessed with wonderful memories..
Barbara Christen (wife)
Wait for me…I love you with all my heart I woke up this morning and realized for the first time you are not here to say good morning to thank you for loving and caring for me for 49 1/2 years I
Papa was a fantastic role model. He knew what to say to anyone. He always had a smile and corky comment. His cars, trucks and motorcycles were the most clean, slick looking hot rods around. And boy could he make a mean meatball. He was one of my most dedicated fans too. I will celebrate my papa until I see him again. ay-yeye…
My dad was a fighter from the beginning. Any challenge that was put in front of him, he did it and with grace all the way until the end. He took care of everyone before himself even on the last day here on earth. I looked up to him and he made me the person I am today. Hardworking, dedicated and strong. I love you dad.
Barb & family, I was saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. I have many fun memories of Paul. May his spirit help you get through this difficult time! My love and prayers are with you!
So Sorry to hear about the end to Paul’s run in this world. He was a positive influence on many and he will be missed by many car loving friends. A talented body man with a special fine touch that was hard to match anywhere. Paul has had his hand on many top notch cars over the years – and his workmanship and painting was always of top quality. His good friend Bill Gefre who was probably closest to being Paul’s equal at body work, always touted the quality of Paul’s work which was a compliment not earned by many, and it said a lot to me about Paul. I was only at Paul’s shop twice over the years and we were the kind of friends who always stopped to say Hi when we met at car events or at local street rod shops. Neat guy – I know that he and Billy Gefre will most likely be getting together up there behind the pearly gates and probably doing some body work on the big guy’s vehicles. The quality of specialty cars in heaven just went up a notch – we all know that! We’ll miss you Paul. Jerry Sullivan
