February 28, 1939 ~ October 12, 2021

Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa passed away October 12, 2021. Lyle “Bob” Morehead was born in Walker, MN on February 28, 1939. He grew up and remained in Forest Lake his entire life. He was married to Karen in 1963. (57 years) They were blessed with 3 boys: Dan (Janaina), Jim (Jean), and Mike (Carmen). Bob’s order of love was truly God – Family – Sports (especially baseball). He was a Ranger through & through – even a Forest Lake Hall of Fame Honoree. Bob was a meat-cutter by day and handyman, avid sports fan, devoted husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, and great-grandpa – that is how he filled in the dash between his birth and passing. He was a humble man – not much for the spotlight. He quietly served others in so many ways. He golfed in the GOOD GUY Open Tournament for many years to help financially support cancer families. He was truly the “Good Guy” for all who were blessed to know him. He will remain in our hearts forever. Preceded in death by sibings, Inez Siegmund, Billy T., D.J. 1. Bob was always a huge fan of our son Kevin when he played basketball and coached for the Rangers! He even kept track of Kevin at Augsburg and St Paul Academy! For that we are very grateful and will miss him very much! Hoping he’s kicking back watching a good game now! 🏀 🏆

  2. Our prayers are with you. Bob was the friendliest, topnotch meat cutter in the Twin Cities! We will miss his quick smile and gentle demeanor. Terry & Diane Moravec

  3. On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Bob’s military service to our country and to veterans as a Legion member.

  4. We would like to recognize and thank Bob for all of his ongoing longterm support for the Forest Lake Area Schools! R.I.P. Bob.

  5. Oh goodness Bob we are going to miss you so much! You were so important to my family all my life and up until your very last day. Endless prayers to Karen, Dan, Jim, Mike and family💙💔🙏🏼

  6. Bob was a wonderful neighbor to myself and my husband, as well as a grandpa figure to our 3 children. We are blessed to be neighbors with Karen and Bob for 20 years. Bob worked on the pool, LOVED baseball, and played with all the kids at the ‘park’. I loved to watch Bob climb all over the roof putting up Christmas decorations. I loved our quiet conversations on the patio, when waiting for Karen to come home or if we were just working in the yards. Bob’s quiet, steadfast demeanor and playing with kids, was evident of his love for family and friends alike. We will miss you Bob, but know you are playing ball in heaven. Rest In Peace. Steve & Aimee Martens and family

  7. My sincere sympathy….I remember when Bob worked at Red Owl (I think it was) and worked in meat department…..I had Bob make roast beef several times….it was the best….certainly one of the nicest men….always kind, always nice….

  8. We are so sorry for your loss. We loved spending time with him at the 4th of July Old Time Baseball Game… He did love baseball!!!

  9. Sympathies to Karen and the Morehead family. I only knew Bob through cribbage at the Legion but we shared our love of sports and cards. I considered him a friend and he’ll be sorely missed.

  10. Bob had such great knowledge about sports. It was always great to talk to him. The city of Forest Lake will miss him for his kindness and positive attitude. Condolences to Karen and the Morehead family

  11. Bob was a wonderful person who was always there others. Because of that he was someone you valued as a friend. He was a great bowler and I was fortunate to be a part of his bowling team for many years. Our sons happened to be in the same grade in high school and we followed them and sat together at their games. Although he was a quiet man he was a thoughtful man. He was also a good baseball player and a good teammate. He will be missed by me and all his great friend.

  12. Bob, was my Godfather growing up. He and Karen never missed a birthday. They would always come over with a new pack of baseball cards back when they used to stick a piece of hard bubble gum in the packs:) LOL! I still have them. During those birthday visits, Bob was a big kid and was the instigator of some epic wrestling matches where he would take on me and my two sisters all at one time. He and Karen were definitely part of my walk with Jesus at a young age. I also remember going and seeing him at Super Value grocery store after church church on Sundays. He would negotiate extra samples for us from the food sample lady. Bob was also a very close friend of my dads and I remember all the baseball stories they told and a few of the “Old Timers” games they played in. We lost a great man, but I am 100% confident I will see you again someday in heaven. -Doug Daninger

  13. How very blessed we have been as a community to have Bob and Karen with us for so long ! I remember Bob, as a teenager working with his Dad in their grocery store. And his Mom was my brother, Michael Cushing’s, 4th grade elementary teacher. Remember them living out on W. Broadway when home were still out there.

  14. Beyond grateful for the love and openness Bob and the entire Morehead family have shown me. Keeping yall in my thoughts and prayers.

  15. Karen & Family, our most humble respect & Love for Bob as one of our “Good Guys” cannot be overstated. He honored us with his goodness & strength.

  16. Bob, came to the 2021 Good Guy Open with a smile on his face and using a lot of his strength to march with all the Good Guys. It was a hot day and he was not in any shape to golf, but he spent time visiting with many of us Beckers. I told him how happy I was to see him, and he looked at me and said. “I wouldn’t miss it”. Thank you Bob, for gracing the Good Guy Open, and this world, with your presence. You will be missed.
