Aunt Laraine held a special corner of my heart. She grew up with the Ramaley kids: Howard (husband), Toodie, Betty, and Bob, and mom (Betty) would tell stories how Laraine would never get dirty when they played together as kids. That’s why I particularly like to recall how she let her hair down, so to speak, when we celebrated the new milenium wearing lampshades on our head. Laraine, we loved you and will miss you always.
I have treasured my relationship with Aunt Laraine. She was a friend who seemed to know my heart and her kindness lifted me up whenever we chanced to meet. I will always feel grateful for that support and respect. This kind soul was core family for me. I will miss her dearly. That’s not mentioning the many chances I’ve had here in Florida to enjoy my favorite “magical” black cherry Jello (with real cherries) that she oft brought to potlucks. Laraine was a meticulous cook and always added quality to any get together. My love goes out to you in gratitude. Your being here on this planet made this life richer. Rest in Peace.
Although I didn’t have the honor of knowing Laraine very well, I remember her to be very gracious and to have an elegance about her. I am thankful for the visits that my son, her great-grandson Howie the 4th, had with her.
She always enjoyed our prolonged phone conversations, even when she didn’t feel good. She was always so happy to see everyone. All our love and prayers are with her.
