June 9, 1992 ~ July 19, 2023

Age 31 of Forest Lake. Loving Son, Little Brother & Uncle, passed away on July 19, 2023. Preceded in death by grandparents, Bud Sell, Filby & Lucy Williamson. Survived by parents, Kirby sisters, Mindy (Thomas), Nina (Mitch), Dana (Phil); nephews & nieces, Sloan, Leighton & Cormac; Kooper, Krosby, Korbyn, Kynslee, Kora; grandmother, Marylin; many aunts and uncles. Kasey had a love of golfing, hockey, snowboarding, bonfires, grilling, country music, dancing, chopping wood and shooting. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of these things with family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews. He was always there to help everyone with every project (and occasionally showed up on time). He worked hard and never stopped. Never took short cuts and was picking up all his father’s trade talents. He was proud to be a 3rd generation electrician. A celebration of Kasey’s life 6 PM Wednesday, July 26th with visitation beginning at 4 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. A barn party-Kasey style with BBQ and drinks following the service starting at 7:30 PM at the Sell Family Farm.

  9. Memories that normally seem like centuries ago are now flooding back with vivid detail as if they occurred last week. On the ice- we shared a mentality. Kasey knew fear, but he thrived on it. Only a few weeks with Kasey would become one of the most treasured and memorable summers of my childhood. It began at one of Kasey’s large family gatherings where he introduced me to what would become another of my favorite hobbies- trap shooting. What followed was a week in the dorms at Minnesota-Duluth where we dodged tennis balls shot at us through the halls by some of America’s most talented division 1 athletes. Why? – because we refused to capitulate to their unjust assertion that while on their campus, we accept Duluth as a peer of the University of Minnesota. I would not be who I am without the friendship shared with Kasey as a child. I have lost a linemate, and the world has lost someone who was never a moment away from brightening someone’s day. It is with a heavy heart I say good-bye, Kasey. I pray for peace and healing to the hearts of your wonderful family.

    • Thank you Bryce for such a great story. You never really know how you impacted ours till years later. If you don’t mine I would to share your story at his service.

  12. We love you Kasey. You meant so much to so many. Ill miss your genuine spirit and warmth. And Ill miss you calling me miss maam. Rest in peace friend.

  13. Kasey Kase,

My favorite memories with you are watching you tear up the dance floor at your friends’ wedding, when I took you to Starbucks for your first time and you ordered a coffee with French Vanilla cream (like it was a gas station haha), blasting Irish music while going for rides in your truck (on the days your truck was actually working lol), when you needed to “shower” after work so you grabbed a bottle of shampoo and hopped in the lake, boating on Forest Lake, calling you every time my Toyota Camry started making a weird sound, and of course bonfire nights at your house.

You brought many laughs and great memories to my life, and always with a Bud Light in one hand and a cigarette in the other. You were a classic, a dear friend, and a good soul. Your absence leaves a hole in all of our hearts. You will be dearly missed.

  14. Kasey will be deeply missed. He was such a great guy and we were all happy to get to know him

  15. Words cannot express how sorry we were to hear about Kasey’s tragic passing. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers! Mitch and Nina, sending you two big virtual hugs until we see you in person.
    Much love,
    Greg and Kari Olson

  16. So sorry for your loss. We met Kasey last year at Jonathan and Anne’s wedding , Kasey was such a delightful and helpful young man. He will truly be missed. Sending our thoughts and prayers your way. The Stanek Family

  17. My memory started when I started working with kasey at Miller electric. He was always willing to do the work most people wouldn’t. Me and Kasey last worked together at buck hill ski resort. We were both together 65 feet up hanging new lights for the slopes. That following weekend we went kayaking down the rum river. Beer’s and fun 10 hours later we came home to hang out some more. Kasey was more than a coworker he was my friend. I will miss you Kasey.
