Age 91 of Forest Lake.
Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother passed away peacefully on September 16, 2018. Preceded in death by brothers, Jerry, Francis, Donald. Survived by wife of 68 years, Carol Ann; children, Margaret (Brad) Miller, Therese Engquist, Joseph (Laurie), William (Karen), Jeffrey, Timothy, Anne, Wendy (Paul) Poynter; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Peltier, Marcella McLevish, Dolores Welch, Jimmy (Karen); many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Joe was a proud Korean Veteran and a long time farmer in Columbus Township. He served on the boards of the Forest Lake School District & Federal Land Bank, and enjoyed playing Texas Hold ‘Em poker and fishing.
A Celebration of Joe’s life 6 PM Friday, September 28th with visitation beginning at 4 PM at the Forest Lake VFW, 556 12th Street SW, Forest Lake. Military honors will be provided by the Forest Lake VFW and American Legion honor guards. Memorials preferred to the Forest Lake VFW for parking lot repairs.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Joe’s military service to our nation and to veterans as an American Legion member.
