Joey was proud to work as a welder & fabricator in his family’s business. He took great pride in his work and could often be found in the shop, welding, fabricating, and creating projects that reflected both his skill and passion. Outside of work, Joey especially enjoyed hiking the scenic trails of Taylors Falls and Osceola, where he appreciated the beauty of nature and the simple joys of being outside. Above all else, he was devoted to his family and  treasured the time spent with those he loved.

Joey’s life will be celebrated with a  gathering from 1-4 PM Saturday, June 6th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.

Guestbook

  1. We have known Joey since he was a baby. Watched him grow up learning the trade by his Father. He became a skilled fabricator. He was hard working, kind and professional. Always enjoyed seeing Joey and Leo working together at NRI. Our hearts go out to all of his family. He will truly be missed Love Rick and MO

  2. I don’t know Joey on a friendship/personal level like most. I went to school with him at Chisago. Never knew much about him and his personal life but when he wasn’t observing things going on around him, he was always saying something hilarious. He was funny and he was very smart. He would make my time in math, english and science a lot more interesting with the things he’d say and even whisper. Might not have known him personally but that doesn’t mean he didn’t make an impact. He will always be remembered.

  3. Joey you will be missed by many. We loved your sense of humor and your kindness may you rest in peace 🙏 AMEN

  4. I met Joey back about 8 years ago. He was best friends with my Nephew Josh. Joey would come to our house and spend time with Josh here in Ramsey when they were around 15 years old. I really liked Joey the first time I met him. Joey and Josh had a very special relationship that carried on from their time in Lindstrom together. He had just written to me back a few months ago and told me that he missed hanging out at my house. He said I really miss you Auntie. He called me Auntie and I called him Joseeeeph. He always hearted all my posts on facebook about Jesus. I will miss you until we see each other again Joseeeph. Give Jesus a hug for me. Love you always, Auntie.

  5. I had the opportunity through PLS to get to know this easy-going, extremely quiet, yet humorous man that I liked to call “Chef Joey”.
He opened up eventually about his love of family and goals to be independent especially, when it came to working the family business.
Early on when he joined PLS, we started cooking together on Tuesday nights (his night to cook for his housemates). This became my time to get to know him more and teach him the joys of cooking healthy and hopefully tasty meals. His passion for cooking quickly became complex stir~fry recipes (minus the fish sauce)as he decided that was a NO GO. I soon became his sous chef!
Joey chose to attend a few churches on Sundays together with some others when he was ready,
He started reading the Bible, introducing a few to including me to the series The Chosen. He chose to be baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund as this clearly became his favorite place to worship. Truly a proud and beautiful moment for all who witnessed it. ✝️
May Gods peace comfort you all today and always.
