August 11, 1922 - May 16, 2008 - Proud WWII Veteran - Of Forest Lake. Preceded in death by siblings Mary Rydl, Frank Rydl and Ernest Rydl. Survived by loving of wife of 58 years, Caroline; daughters, Betti (Jon) Schmidt, Beverly (Ken) McDermott and Barbara (Matthew) Curtis; 6 grandchildren, Rob McDermott, Troy (Lisa) McDermott, Kari Schmidt, Chris Schmidt, Amber (Ronnie) Emly and Billy Wohlwend; 4 great grandchildren, Jeron Emly, Katie McDermott, Jadyn Emly and Kelliann McDermott; sisters, Alice Rydl, Bess Huffman and Emma (Jack) Tosney. Visitation 4-6 PM, Tuesday, May 20th with a Celebration Service beginning at 6 PM in Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake followed by refreshments. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later time.
