Joanne M. Schroeder

Date of Birth: October 19, 1954 Date of Death: Janurary 27, 2011 Joanne Marie Schroeder was born October 19, 1954 in St. Paul, Minnesota and died on January 27, 2011 in Arden Hills surrounded by her family following a courageous fight with breast cancer. She was 56 years old. Joanne grew up in Roseville and Chisago City, Minnesota. She graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1972. Joanne was united in marriage to Gary Schroederon June 28, 1978. Upon graduation, Joanne worked for Curtis and Ruby Lendt at Chisago County Abstract, Chisago Lakes Travel and Chisago Lakes Realty until she purchased and began operating the Highway 8 Driving Range in 1993. Her business gave her opportunity to do what she loved best - meeting new people everyday and taking special care to make sure they felt welcome. No child ever left without a lollipop and a word of encouragement. It was also the place where many family members and friends often stopped by for a chat. Joanne was known for her sense of humor and her devotion to family. She was always there to help friends and family in their time of need. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City. Joanne was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Joanne was a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter and aunt. She is survived by husband, Gary; son, Erich; mother, Betty; six sisters, Cindy (Tim) Larson, Diane (Bruce) Peterson, Cathy (Dave) Pesola, Sharon (Ron) Weber, Penny (Mitch Carlson) Pliscott and Roxanne (Gary) Simons; six brothers, Gary (Sonja), Edward, Raymond (Tammie), Thomas, Duane (Kathryn) and Mark (Kristina) Pliscott; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. Joanne was preceded in death by father, Raymond and nephew, Andrew Carlson. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Monday, Jan. 31st at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Feb. 1st at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 28005 Old Towne Road, Chisago City with visitation one hour before service. Interment South Green Lake Cemetery.
