JoAnne C. Dornseif

January 30, 1945 ~ December 19, 2013
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter. JoAnne C. Bosh was born on January 30, 1945, the second daughter of Bennie and Ethel (Lala) Bosh. JoAnne grew up in the small town of Michigan, North Dakota, and spent many happy years in Michigan, surrounded by friends and family. She was one of 15 proud graduates of the Michigan High School Class of 1963. After graduation, she went on to attend Mayville State University in Mayville, ND. The lure of the big city soon called, and JoAnne moved the Twin Cities area. Living in the Twin Cities gave her the opportunity to be close to her big sister Judy, and is also where she met the love of her life, Mike Dornseif. After a whirlwind courtship, Mike and JoAnne were married at the Cathedral of St. Paul on November 9, 1968, and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this November. JoAnne and Mike moved to Forest Lake in 1975 with their children, Michelle, Sara, and Jake. The years in Columbus were filled with love and fights, and a never-ending supply of fun and laughter. The house has been a home to four generations of Dornseifs and JoAnne and Mike were finally going to realize their dream of moving to Florida in 2014, after selflessly caring for their children, grandchildren, and great-grand child for the past 43 years. After fighting a valiant battle with breast cancer and COPD, JoAnne passed away on December 19, 2013, with her husband and children at her side. JoAnne was proceeded in death by her father, Bennie Bosh; in-laws Westley and Olive Dornseif; grandparents Ida and Adolph Lala and Rose and Adolph Bosh. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael Dornseif; children Michelle (John) Ulvin, Sara, and Jake (Lael) Dornseif; grandchildren Ashlee and Mackenzie Dornseif, Ian Ulvin, and Benjamin, Allison, and Brayden Dornseif; and great-grandson Alex Dornseif; mother Ethel Bosh; and sister Judy Ulberg; and many beloved cousins and friends. A gathering will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday December 28th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 SW Centennial Drive, Forest Lake, with a time of sharing beginning at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. Revelation 21:4 make this promise, it says: ” And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” What a beautiful promise, we all look forward, from our loving Creator, (Jehovah God, Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.
Sincerely Yours,
Brandy Molina
May you, the family of beloved JoAnne, find peace and comfort in Christ’s promise of everlasting life.
I will ALWAYS remember JoAnne as a Michigan Bulldog team cheerleader. She always wore a smile, brought a positive attitude, and was dedicated to her team and friends. She was one year older than me and coming from small town, USA, we all laughed, cried, and supported each other. We were one BIG family. Our memories will forever be a TREASURE we hold in our hearts. May your reward be rich in your heavenly home, JoAnne.
Mike, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, and am sorry I could not be at the memorial for JoAnne today. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sending all our love to the family.
I have wonderful memories of JoAnne and our high school days. We did stay in touch all these years and though we saw each other only occasionally since high school, I treasure all the times and talks and exchanges of memories of days gone by and updates about children and grandchildren. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family….With love from her Arizona friend.
OUR WONDERFUL BREAKS – WORKING AT PMC. SHE WAS A GREAT FRIEND THAT ALWAYS HAD YOUR BACK. I AM SO SAD THAT I DID NOT TAKE MORE TIME TO MEET ALWAYS THOUGHT AFTER I RETIRE, SOMETIMES WE DON’T HAVE THE FUTURE WE WANT—WILL MISS YOU JOANNE
Our sympathies to Mike and family, from Winona Mn.
