I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. Death is something that humans were never meant to experience, the pain that we experience when we lose a loved one is something that is simply unnatural. Psalms 37:29 says 29 “The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.” God’s original purpose for humankind was to live forever in a paradise earth with no sickness or death. An “abundance of peace” as psalms 37:10 brings out. Though the world we love in is horrible and we experience pain on a daily basis there is some good news, the bible promises something truly amazing at revelation 21:4 it says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” So death, sickness, pain and every kind of sorrow will be wiped out but what about those who have already died? John 5:28,29 says of those ones “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” So these ones will be resurrected to an earth filled with peace. Jean and my mother Olivia Botten worked together at Winona Market Research for many years. She and my mom were golfed in various leagues around the city. I also have golfed many times with Jean and Bud. We golfed often at Dwan in Bloomington and after a round of golf one night we were invited to Bud and Jean’s for a lovely barb-b-q at their home. Bud had a feast waiting for us ladies, there were 4-5 of us. My husband met both Jean and Bud when they came to our wedding and he loved them both as I did. We were invited to their place in Alex and went to a great Italian place for dinner. Where Bud proceeded to carry on an indepth conversation with our waitress in Italian. Having served their during WW11 and traveled there with Jean he knew the language pretty well. I have many lovely stories from my mom about this warm and lovely couple. Many trips to their Paynesville lake place and other outings. Jean will be greatly missed. A beautiful lady inside as well as outside.
Jean was a former neighbor of mine in Bloomington. She was always so nurturing, kind, and ready to smile! She hand painted clothes pins as well as vases and I still use them! She was such a fine lady, in every sense of the word! She always remembered my birthday and called me “kid”! My children grew up calling her “Grandma Jean” with much affection. She had a big heart, and will be remembered fondly by many.
