James Richard Hoppe

Age 84, of Columbus. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, long-time member of IBEW, and U.S. Army Veteran. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 29, 2015. James loved deer hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed watching Twins baseball, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and visiting with many friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Catherine (Woebkenberg); brothers, Joseph, Cyril, Jerome, and Daniel; and sister, Cecilia. Survived by wife of 57 years, Patricia; sons, Gregory (Jeannie), Robert (Valerie), Glenn (Denise), and Michael (Beth); grandchildren, Sarah, Krystal, Nicole, Erin, Deidre, Adam, Bethany, Benjamin, Brooke, and Samuel; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray, Tom, Pete, and Jack; sisters, Betsy and Louise; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday, September 3, at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 SW Centennial Drive, Forest Lake. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Friday, September 4, at Church of St. Peter, 1250 S. Shore Dr., Forest Lake, with visitation 9-10 AM AT THE FUNERAL HOME. Interment at Fort Ripley at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
