James Herbert "Jim" Bartz

James Herbert “Jim” Bartz, age 81, passed away on October 13, 2026. He was born on July 29, 1945, in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Jim worked for many years at Taystee Bakery before retiring. He later enjoyed working as a groundskeeper at Falcon Ridge Golf Course, where he made many lasting friendships.

An avid golfer, Jim enjoyed putting puzzles together, cheering on his favorite Minnesota sports teams, and taking the train to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to visit his kids. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed sharing a laugh, and treasured the friendships he made at the golf course and the apartment community where he lived.

Jim is survived by his son, Jon (Mary) Bartz; daughter, Shari (Chris) DeBraal; grandchildren, Brady and Karly Bartz; sister, Beverly Schultz; nieces, Tina (Kevin) Roman, Nicole Sanchez, and Katie Zahratka; nephew, Monte (Jen) Schultz; and his dear companion, Sharon Karls, and her family, Chad, Fran, Hailey, Ashley, Justin, and Anna.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula (Schedler) Bartz; parents, Harold and Louina (Steinhorst) Bartz; and brother, Roger Bartz.

Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of family, passion for golf, and the many friendships he made along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
