  1. Wow, the passing of a legend. There was no greater fan of the Scandia Fast Pitch teams for DECADES than George Lindgren. EVERY league game, EVERY Scandia Tournament game…George would be sitting in the same spot in the bleachers. Top row, sitting with his right arm rested over the railing, 3rd base side. From the first tournament games on Friday night to the Championship game on Sunday night. Out of town tournaments, no problem. George traveled in the back seat of mom and dad’s car just to watch Scandia play. George even followed us to a few of the National Tournaments through out the country we qualified for. Guess who always sold the most tickets to the “Smokers” that were held in the basement of Erickson’s garage and who sold the most tickets to all those “Gold Plate Dinners” held at the Community Center for years? Yup, George Lindgren! Thank you for the memories George. Scandia Fast Pitch’s #1 Fan!

  2. Where they bitin’ George? “Nay, by the upper lip!!!……a real icon….to be missed……Thanks for the memories George!

  3. Oh Wow, so many memories and conversations with George. I have missed him on a regular over the last couple of years. Last time was when his best caregiver & friend (Bruce Swenson) brought him up to coffee at Meisters for the AM “guys group” last fall. George will be a legend that will be missed. Hope to see you all for his memorial!!!

  4. I saw George almost every day of my childhood. We did many things together, along with playing checkers. He was always dropping stuff when we played. I was always picking what ever he dropped up. After years I learned when I bent over to pick the things up he dropped, he would move the checkers, he was a cheater at checkers and all those years I just thought he was a better player then I. All in fun, but another good lesson learned from from George. Holidays and Family trips, so many memories. I will always love and miss George, I am happy for him that he was now able to move on, rest in peace George.

  5. George was part of our family for many, many years. We had ALOT of fun with him. I believe that he lived a full life. May he now rest in peace. My condolences goes out to all that were touched by George. Marianne Meister
