Gary Specht, age 66 of Crosslake passed away peacefully December 16, 2011. Preceded in death by parents, John and Ura Specht; father and mother-in-law, Vernon and Vivian Anderson; brother-in-law, William Carlson and sister-in-law, Mary Specht. Survived by wife of 29 years, Susan; children, Jeff (Tracy) DeGrote, Sarah (Nick) Dreher and John Specht; 8 grandchildren; brother, Ron Specht; sisters, Sharon Carlson and Jean (Steve) Belich; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial service 2 PM Wed., Dec. 21st at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 19001 Jackson St. NE, East Bethel with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 1 PM. WLYSM

I went to school with Gary. It saddens me to hear that he has passed away. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
Gary is the paternal grandfather of my children. he knew how to cheer me up or make me laugh on the smallest things. he is the man that i truely respect.
Susan,Sarah and family, I am so sorry for loss. Gary was such a great man. I have such wonderful memories growing up over at your house. Your house was my second home. His smile and how he would joke with us is something I will never forget. Thinking of you all.
Gary was soft, warm and compassionate and always had a twinkle in his eye. We could never have asked for a better husband for our sister Susan. They truly had a loving marriage and were best friends. We will miss you Gary. Our deepest sympathy to Susan and the rest of the family.

Besides being an avid fisherman, Gary was a devoted and loving husband. He was patient and kind to all that knew him and he loved a good prank!
