I have known Gary since he was a young boy. Gary had his own struggles which he turned around to be a positive and with the help of Jesus Christ he was able to help and befriend others. He will certainly be remembered with love and resp[ect .To Roberta and his family God Bless You have many memories. .
Gary was one of the kindest and most generous men I’ve ever known. He and his dear Wife Alberta let me stay with them when I lost my home. They loved my kids and I as if we were family. It was a very difficult day when Gary, Bert and I went to his Official Diagnosis appointment where the Dr said he would not make it til Christmas ’09. Gary, You sure proved the Drs wrong!! We will miss you here on earth, but we will rejoice that you are Home waiting for us!!
Jackie and Dick shared sweet and meaningful memories of Gary as he fought and later accepted the end of a long battle with cancer. We know that Jackie will miss her brother and we pray that she finds comfort in the memories of their lives..
God bless,
Philip and Susann Malmstedt
Fourteen years ago I found myself in Center City, Minnesota, alone, afraid and hopeless. Gary helped me to begin the process of rebuilding my life, one day at a time. His kindness and thoughtfulness have traveled with me these many years. Thank you Gary for being a guiding example of living by and through the Spirit.
Gary helped me and my family at a very dark time and supported someone very close to me as he fought a terrible addiction. Gary Swanson was more than just a gifted chemical dependency counselor for a world renown treatment center…he was a good samaritan, a wonderful father, a loving husband and he truly believed that everyone had the ability to change. He saw the good in people when nobody else could. He was beautiful. You will be missed my friend.

Gary was a man of god unlike no other. He was so nice and such a great father to his kids and a loving Husband and a good grandpa. Like i sadi i enjoyed being at there home, i always felt welcomed. Gary had a story about his life and i felt he got it out there. He made his mistakes and learned from them and then started his walk with the lord. He did a great job sharing his ups and downs and spreading the word of the lord as well. I always felt welcomed when i was at his home when id come over with his Daughter Melissa. I do wish for a peace to be giving to the family and friends of Gary to know theres no more pain. Peace and love to you all
Always loved being at there house for a get together. We always had nice conversations with each other.
Gary had a big heart for all. After fighting his demens Gary got involved in many ways of helping others through there trails and tribulations. There is so many wonderful memories of this man you couldn’t possibly get through his legacy unless you wrote a book. His family and friends was the heart of his life. His soul is GODs life. We will miss this wonderful man. Our brother in law Gary.
