Frank E. Messin

Age 91 of Clearwater Beach, FL & Forest Lake. Loving Dad, Grandpa & Great-Grandpa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 5, 2023. Preceded in death by son-in-law, John Kelly. Survived by children, Rick, Barbara Kelly, Sheila (Kent) Anderson, Roger (Jenifer) Sandy (Joe) Musha; their mother, Norma; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. Frank was raised in the Como Park of St. Paul and remained living there for many years. He was a great athlete growing up, excelling at multiple sports. He played Triple A ball in Florida, Kansas City, Washington & Arizona. In 1961 he was a batting practice pitcher for the Minnesota Twins and then pitched for the Cleveland Indians. He would later play for local teams in Minnesota. He was a referee for high school and college hockey for 25 years. His greatest passion was golf, playing his final round on August 31st of this year. Frank worked in the trucking industry for 30+ years and later on as a business executive in the plastics industry. A celebration of Frank’s life 1-3 PM Saturday, October 21st at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville. Memorials preferred to A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation.
