I grew up a mile and a half from Ernest. He was 12 years older than I, but I was best friends with his sister, Marge, so I remember him as a very nice “big brother”. I remember that he was very good to his mom, worked hard on the farm, and was a genuinely good, kind-hearted person. May the wonderful memories you have of Ernest help you through this sad, difficult time.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for the military service to our nation that Ernest performed.
Please know that I am thinking of you at this time. “Pa” always held a special place in my heart.
He will be greatly missed by so many! He has been missed for the last few years of hunting, and it will be difficult to return to the shack knowing he won’t be returning 🙁
