Heaven Has Gained A Master Gardener. Sitting in his garden under the grape vine while his wife Judy of 54 years planted his tomatoes at their beautiful home on Chisago Lake. Edward passed away peacefully from a stroke Sunday, June 10th. His Legacy seeds thrive in his children; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Catherine; grandson, Jeremy of Lakewood, Colorado; son, Kerry of Mounds View; daughter, Marileah of Chisago City, Trisha and son-in-law, Mark Luedke of Denver, Colorado. His brotherly love was felt by his sisters Patricia Ostrander of Brainerd and Kathleen (Gary) Jensen of Nisswa. Born February 18, 1934 to Harold and Edna McCarty, Eds life of 73 years was filled with adventure. As a crane operator and then CEO of the family business Midwest Erectors and member of the I.U.O.E. 49ers, Ed also tended to his vegetable and flower gardens on Langton Lake in Roseville. Instrumental in preserving Langton Lake, the land of Ed and Judys Roseville home is now a park for all to enjoy. In 1995, Ed and Judy built a home on Chisago Lake where visitors stand in awe of their gardens. As a 1953 Murray High School graduate, a young 1950s member of the St. Paul Mens Gardening Club and 1990s Chisago County Master Gardeners, Eds plantings in his gardens and in life will forever flourish.
