Dorothy A. Ackland
September 9, 1921 ~ January 30, 2014
Dorothy A. Ackland, age 92 of Chisago City, a beloved Mom and Grandma, died January 30, 2014. She is preceded in death by husband, Donald E. Ackland and her siblings, Marie, Alvin, Roy and Floyd Gilbrech. Her memory will live on in her children, Leland (EunSoon) Ackland, Allen (Felice) Ackland, Marcy (Gary) Thurber, Brian Ackland, and Donna (Jerry) Neumann; 10 grandchildren, Julian, Laura, Heather, Michael, Felicia, Chris, Aric, Brandon, Sam, and Noah; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dorothy can be remembered for the love she shared with her family and her church, and the way she graciously served others. She excelled at making friends and loved to share a piece of her excellent pie with everyone. We are comforted in the thought that she is in the hands of God, for he is, The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Ex 34:6-7 A celebration of Dorothys life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15th at First United Methodist Church, 30828 Irene Ave., Lindstrom with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 9:30 AM until time of service. Family interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to First United Methodist Church.

Dorothy was a member of the Parmly Vitalize Center. She was a member of the 9:30 Water Aerobics class. She was loved & admired by all of us. Dorothy had been afraid of the water previously & learned to enjoy it. Her positive attitude & delightful personality was a inspiration to all us. She will be sorely missed.
