Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dearest Carol, Paul, Ron, and Roger,
So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. We were shocked to hear that he had been battling cancer. We want you to know that we appreciate his memories of Dad and having the courage to speak at Dad’s funeral. We have many fond memories of you and Don and the family at the reunions we attended. I also remember being at your home in Coon Rapids as a young girl with Susie for a few days. You took us shopping in Coon Rapids at the Dime Store and I bought my mother a little ceramic dish, which I still have. We had great fun with the boys, splashing and playing in the small pool in your backyard. One of us decided to jump from a bench, which had a rotten spot in a board, into the shallow pool resulting in it breaking under my foot, cutting the top of my foot which Don then had to tend to . I still have the scar from that, but also a very pleasant memory of feeling so loved by all of you. Don was a prince of a man, always a smile and a ready laugh. You complimented his great personality with your loving smiles and laughs.
Our love and condolences to you and all of the family.
Let’s keep in touch…we would love to get together sometime.

  2. Back in the day, in the 70’s, the GREAT and AWESOME times of FLake teaching and living, we had many good times. Some brain cells burned and friendships made for a life time. Sadly these times are coming to an end, but the memories will live on. Our condolences to family, please take care and carry on the good days from the 70’s.

  3. Carol

I am so sorry to hear of Don’s passing. May all the wonderful memories of your time together sustain you.

  4. Dear Carol, Paul, Ron, Roger,

We are so sorry for your loss. Don was a great man and will be missed by many. We cherish the memory of times together at the farm of Mom and Dad and also the reunions at your home. Always so much love felt.

He will be in your hearts and ours always. Rejoice in that.

  5. On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225 we give thanks for Don’s military service to our nation..

  6. Dear Carol, Paul, Ron and Roger,

Please accept our deepest sympathies. I love the picture your chose for Don’s obituary, that is truly how I remember Don. Don has touched so many people especially my parents, Jerry and Judy. When talking with your grandkids Carol don’t forget to tell all of those wonderful stories of Don all the laughs, the jokes, the good times and the bad times because that is who Don was. He is now a bright shining star looking down on all of your.

Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it was.

I know how much he will be missed by one and all. I know how much he will be missed by my parents. Always remember Goodbye Farewell Amen.

    Love, Missy and Kris Olson
