David Frederick Houghton
February 5, 1936 ~ April 3, 2017
Age 81 of Scandia. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather Brother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 3, 2017. David was a proud employee of 3M for 38 years. He was a Marine Corp veteran. David enjoyed his toy train sets and watching NASCAR races as well as football games. David is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Virginia; and brother, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Amy (Todd) Fleming; grandchildren, Tianna, Taylor, Trace; great-grandchild, Kaidin; sister, Denise (Bill) Naasz; and many close family friends. A Celebration of Davids Life 2 PM Friday, April 7th at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail N, Scandia, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Monday, April 10th.

Almost each and every memory I have as a child growing up in MN prior to moving to FL includes my Uncle Dave and Aunt Dode…with my best friend and cousin Amy. I love you Daddy. Whenever I think of you, it puts a smile on my face. You lived such a happy, and free life. I strive to be more like you. You would be proud of what Todd and I are doing, in your place. We love you, and will see you again some day.
