Darla M. Lartch

Darla Mae Lartch (Hardt), age 76, of Brook Park and formerly of the Forest Lake area, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. Darla is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Francis; daughter, Lorene Marie Knight (Lartch); parents, Emil Herman and Angela Magdalen Hardt (Steinburger); and brother, Neil Frank Hardt. Darla will be deeply missed by her children, Cindy Lancaster, Todd (Sue) Lartch, Angela Lartch (Mike Livermore), Randahl (Judy) Lartch and Howard (Tiffany) Lartch; grandchildren, Christine Gould, Tristan Lartch, Josh Lartch, Tia Lartch, Jessica Williams, David Lartch, Becca Lartch, Jamie Freide, Brian Buffington, Jacob Livermore, Kenneth Lartch, Magdalen Lartch, Mackenzie Lartch, and Logan Lartch; six great grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Lois Hardt and Marlene Nelson; brother-in-law, Donald Lartch; Darlas best friend, Bette Wrucke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Darla was very loving of her children and grandkids, spoiling them all with the many things that she created. Darla adored her pets, George, Sweety and Shadow (who passed away one year ago), feeding and watching the birds outside her window, and talking to the chipmunks. She loved dog sledding with her son Todd, cherished and loved collecting wolves of all varieties and she loved the Vikings and watching the Wild hockey games. Darla took great pride in the VFW and the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary, she was a life member of the Kraus Hartig VFW Auxiliary in Spring Lake Park, Mn. She was Grand (State) President 1969 - 1970 and she was a Past Supreme National President of the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary from 1978 - 1979. Darla was still actively involved, she was the secretary treasurer of the MOC Press Association with her many travels with her friend Bette Wrucke. Darla loved to spend many hours in the boat fishing and camping with her husband and traveling the country side with her family taking long vacations. She took pride in her crocheting afghans to wall hangings. Darla enjoyed sewing lap covers for the American Legion and making sweaters for her Cootie friends. She was very high spirited and strong willed and a great sense of humor (sometimes dry), independent, crafty, she loved bingo and bowling, slot machines on the Ipad. Darla spent her last year living with her loving family (Howard and Tiff) and (Randy and Judy) where she passed away with family gathered around her. Darla cherished this last year with her family and friends. Our Mom/Grandma/Great grandma will be greatly missed. A visitation for Darla will be held on 4-8 PM Sunday, September 30th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Drive SW, Forest Lake. A Celebration of Darlas Life will be at 1 PM, Monday, October 1st, at Roberts Family Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 Noon. Interment will be held in Brook Park Cemetery, Brook Park, MN.
Memories of Darla have always brought a happy smile. Our sympathies and heartfelt condolences to all her friends and family. We will miss her.
I have very fond memories of the time that I spent with Darla over the years. She was missed at the last Supreme Convention. I will miss her.
