Daniel M. Sunder

January 5, 1956 ~ March 7, 2014
Born in St. Peter, MN, January 5, 1956, and passed away peacefully on March 7, 2014. Preceded in death by parents Leonard and Josephine Sunder and granddaughter, Lanaia Shumpert. Loved and forever missed by wife, Kathy Sunder; daughter, Kelly (Nick) Anderson; step-daughter, Kendra Kimlinger; grandchildren, Ashley, Emily and Zeke; sister, Rita (Rick) Zitterman; brother, Jim (Carrie) Sunder and children Luke and Joey; many other nieces and nephews; in-laws Rosemary and Gene Gaylord; and many friends. Dan loved spending time at the family cabin near Longville, MN. Dan loved the sound of the brook near his deer stand as it cascaded over the many one foot stair way drops creating many miniature waterfalls. Dan also loved honesty, compassion, the many calls of the loon, snowmobiling, family (especially grandkids), watching birds at the feeder, hunting fishing, slowly riding on the pontoon on Island Lake, ruby red sunsets, canoeing, Yellowstone, the promise of the Lord God, the wind in his face, the sun on his back, the woods, and planting trees (Dan planted over 225,000 pine trees in his lifetime). Dan worked 38 years for the State of Minnesota and also enjoyed many of his co-workers as his friends. Special thanks to HealthEast/Baywood and everyone at Minnesota Oncology for the special care delivered to Dan and his family. Visitation 4-8 pm Thurs., March 13th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake. My sincere condolences to you and your family. (Revelation 21:4) make the promise, where death will be going forever. What a beautiful promise that we all look forward, from our loving Creator, Jehovah God, (Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.
Sincerely Yours,
Brandy Molina
Kathy and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
To Sunder Family,
I grew up next to the Sunder Family home in St. Paul Midway neighborhood. Dan and Jim , I felt were like brothers to me , they would either be at our house or I would be over at there house playing or just talking over the fence ! My name is Mark Kerkvliet , and when my mother died Dan came over and talked to me telling me my mom treated him like a son and taught him his alphabet and numbers when he was little and said he would never forget my mom! This bought a tear to my eye and I would say the same for Dan. Dan was one of the nicest guys I ever knew next to his Dad and it shocks me that his life has been cut short. Mark
