Age 77 of Hugo. Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa & Brother, passed away on July 13, 2026. Preceded in death by parents, Lorin & Lucille; sister, Patricia (Tom) Kritta. As a Como boy from St. Paul, Dan graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall. Some of his happiest memories were made during summers at the family cabin on Second Lake in Forest Lake. He proudly served his country in Vietnam & joined the family business, Scholl’s Inc., founded by his father. Dan spent many years living on Forest Lake, where he embraced lake life & loved hosting family & friends for his favorite holiday, the Fourth of July. He found great joy in boating, playing volleyball & pool, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, & spending time with his devoted dogs. Dan will be remembered for his love of family & friends, his devotion to his country, his generous spirit, & especially his wonderful sense of humor. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched & in the countless moments of laughter & fun he shared with those around him.

Dan’s life will be celebrated with a gathering from 3-6 PM Tuesday, July 21st with a time of sharing & military honors beginning at 5 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Como Friends or Children’s Home & LSS.
