Charlene was a loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter who loved her family very much. Everyone she met knew her to be a very kind and caring person. She was easy to talk to, approachable, and genuinely cared about anyone she met. Charlene was known to make up songs about the tasks she was doing, reflecting her great sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. She had a tireless work ethic and was devoted to her work running a dog boarding & grooming business. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Charlene was a God-fearing Christian woman and put her faith into practice every day helping and improving the lives of the people around her. Charlene was a wonderful mother and provided her children with a good upbringing. She was a great role model, always gave great advice and guidance as well as moral support to her children. When Charlene wasn’t busy giving her all to her family and friends, she enjoyed spending time collecting Tammy dolls, a hobby that reminded her of her own wonderful upbringing and her beloved mother and sisters. She also collected Redwing pottery that she proudly displayed in her home.
A celebration of Charlene’s life will be held from 5-8 PM Thursday, October 17th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.
Absolutely heartbreaking. Sending all of my love and prayers to her son, Chris and his family and the rest of the people mourning her tragic loss.
My heart is breaking for all of Charlenes family and friends. We boarded our dog Koda at Charlenes Kennel multiple times. I never got the pleasure of meeting her as my husband was always the one to drop him off and pick him up. I did however get to speak with her on the phone several times and she was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have talked to. I always knew our dog Koda was safe in her care and he loved it there. My thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends.
I met Charlene when we started school in kindergarten. We were good friends all through grade school. I remember her and I were fairies in a school play and her mother making our costumes. We went to Wyoming elementary school. RIP Charlene and thanks for the memories 🙏
So a tragic loss. Sending uplifting thoughts and prayers to her family.
I’ll never forget years and years ago when Bean and my sister Carol went downtown St. Paul and got makeovers. I met them at the Ground Round afterwards and barely recognized them (and they barely recognized themselves). Oh, Bean. Life isn’t always fair, is it? RIP, sweet girl. Condolences to the family.
Our deepest condolences to all family and friends of Charlene. Our family has known her for over 20 years, as she has boarded all of our dogs that we have had. She went above and beyond many times, and I considered her a friend. We will never find another kennel that would let Boochie sit in the office because Charlene knew how much Boochie enjoys human interaction. Such an incredibly kind soul, our hearts break at the loss.
Q: How did you meet Charlene?
A: I met her in 2012. We boarded our rambunctious JRT with her. She also groomed our Springer. She was so kind and a deep faith in God. RIP Charlene it was a pleasure knowing you.
My deepest sympathies for your loss. May you find comfort in the joy she brought to your lives. Lou Krohn (friend of Greta Corey)

Charlene was a warm and beautiful person and will be deeply missed. Sending thoughts of strength, peace and joyful remembrance to all of of you.
Our hearts were broken when we heard the news about Charlene. She was such a kind and caring soul. We have taken our dogs to her over the years and they loved running right into her office from our car to see Miss Charlene. She made such a lasting impact on our dogs, but more importantly, on us humans that knew her. We pray that she is at peace and that she knows how much she meant to so many animals and their owners.
Such a kind and gentle woman. So sorry for your tragedy.
I am so sorry to discover this tragic news. I called the kennel about boarding my dogs and the line was disconnected. So began an online search to find out what happened. Charlene was such a sweet and friendly woman and my dogs loved seeing her when dropping them off for boarding. She had such a lovely soul and it breaks my heart to know what happened. She is and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Charlene was always so kind to us and our dear dog. I can still hear her voice saying our dogs name lovingly when she greeted her and seeing our dogs tail wag. We knew she was in good hands with Charlene. Then when we would return from our trips she would genuinely ask us if we had a good time. I just felt such care and warmth from her and can see why those around her were blessed to have her in their lives. I think of her every time I drive by the intersection on 61 to go to her place and this last time decided to search for her obit and found this. It was good to learn even more about her. Blessings to her family as you try to learn how to live and continue to love each other through this tragedy.
