Bonita "Bonnie" Jean Yager

July 2, 1940 ~ September 8, 2026

Bonita “Bonnie” Jean Yager (Hyatt), age 86, formerly of Brainerd, MN and Baker City, OR, most recently of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, with her niece, Anna by her side.

Bonnie was truly a sweet and caring person who had a special way of making the people around her feel loved. She leaves behind her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, her two beloved cats, and many dear friends who will miss her immensely.

Bonnie loved making memories and enjoying life. She had a passion for traveling, hunting, camping, boating, fishing, and quilting. Whether she was out on the water, enjoying the great outdoors, creating something beautiful with her fabric, or exploring new places, Bonnie found joy in the simple moments and sharing them with the people she loved.

Bonnie is now reunited with her beloved husband, Melvin Yager; her son, Mick; her stepdaughter, Melanee; her siblings, Karen, Don (Patty), Pat (Paul), and Roger; her nephews, Shawn and Dennis; and her great-great-niece, Raella. We find comfort knowing she was welcomed into eternity with open arms by those who went before her.

Her kindness, gentle spirit, caring heart, and beautiful memories will live on in all who knew and loved her. She touched many lives simply by being the sweet person she was.

A gathering to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held from 4-8 PM Friday, October 2nd Roberts Family Funeral Home in Forest Lake, MN.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Carefree Cottages, White Pine Advanced Memory Care, and Olive Grove Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Bonnie.

Bonnie may be gone from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts. We love you Bonnie!
