Bernice S. LaCasse August 31, 1932 - September 18, 2014 Our beloved mother, Bernice has been released from the constraints of Alzheimers to sing and dance freely with the angels. She was greeted by her parents, Frank and Stephanie Marier; brothers, Vernon, Narcisse, Walter and Albert; husband, Loren Skip Gentz and granddaughter, Amber. Bernice was most proud of her family. When asked how many children, she would hold up both hands, fingers spread wide and proclaim, I have 10 kids! In order: Gordon (Deborah), Sharon, Thomas, Bruce (Janet), Linda (Steve), Daniel, David (Linnea) Gary (Lynn), Carolyn and Tim. She is also very proudly survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, her brother, Lloyd Marier and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bernices life will be held at 1:00 PM, Sat., Sept. 27th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. A special thank you to Birchwood HealthCare Center staff and the Allina Hospice for their comfort and care these past years. Interment St. John The Baptist Catholic Church of Hugo. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Bernices family.
It’s like only yesterday ‘Ma, …….’You had an infectious smile and laugh that I can still see and hear right now, ….. I hope you and my mother (your friend) Pat are both having a ball in heaven, …. I miss you (‘both’) deeply all my love, your devoted son/in/law Steve.
I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. Death is something that humans were never meant to experience, the pain that we experience when we lose a loved one is something that is simply unnatural. Psalms 37:29 says 29 “The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.” God’s original purpose for humankind was to live forever in a paradise earth with no sickness or death. An “abundance of peace” as psalms 37:10 brings out. Though the world we love in is horrible and we experience pain on a daily basis there is some good news, the bible promises something truly amazing at revelation 21:4 it says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” So death, sickness, pain and every kind of sorrow will be wiped out but what about those who have already died? John 5:28,29 says of those ones “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” So these ones will be resurrected to an earth filled with peace. I am sure your feel the loss of your mother deeply even though you know she is at peace. May God watch over her family and provide them his grace.
Aunt Bea was one of a kind….Most people with her responsibilities would not have the smile as she did…Bernice spread joy with her presence. She made the world a much better place having lived. This picture is how I will always remember her.
Even though Aunt B had a full house of her own children she still opened her home for cousins to spend a night or two. She was full of life as she loved to joke, laugh and be with those she loved.
May her family find comfort in the memories they have of her and knowing she is finally at peace.
Our family felt a kinship withe the LaCasse family because of the number of siblings we had. What a wonderful lady. I am so sorry for your loss.
Hard to pick a favorite memory, because they were all great! Her love and kindness to her family, including all who decided to camp out in her home, cannot be explained with words, but will always be felt and held dear in our hearts. Rest in Peace Aunty, you will always be with us. Love and prayers to you and your family.
Mom touched so many lives with her smile, her laughter and her love for everyone around her. How blessed I was to have had her in my life. I have a special Angel to call on now. So glad you are at peace and are with the Lord.
Saddened by the loss of such a talented and precious lady. When I first met Bernice I remember her being so upbeat and energetic. She seemed to really love life. Earth has lost a wonderful soul.
