Barb, You are on mind today – Your kind and generous spirit continues to guide me in my daily actions!
I Miss YOU so much!
Barb, you will always be my sister-in-law. Your magnificent smile that could light up a room….I will never forget it! I couldn’t believe your “barn art”, a “canvas” so large, how did you ever do it? We walked alot of the same roads… God how I ached for you..it just doesn’t seem fair. I’ll think of you and miss you often. Love Marilyn
Barb will always remain in our hearts as part of our family. My favorite memory is staying out at Barb and Terry’s home and in the mornining, Barb would fire up the antique cook stove and make coffee. She would bake bread and cook the meals on that stove, even better than what we make on our stoves now. Her artistic ability greets me every morning as I still have the mug that she “threw off of the wheel” for our Grandma, or Granny as she inscribed on the mug for a gift for her. She always liked things homemade or doing things the “old” way and preserving those ways. She will be remembered as a free spirit, an accomplished aritist, a loving mother to my nieces, and part of the Grave family. My prayers are with Em, Liz and the Ewert family. Merla (Mert) Reimers
I have nothing but great memories of my Aunt Barb and Em and Liz. She was a beam of light and always lit up a room with her positive energy. I was lucky to call her family and will miss her very much. Love and blessings to her family
I new Barb through her brother. I was a friend of her’s. I Lived in Clover Leaf Farm just down the road. Barb was a friend and we road my horses and we Went hunting when we were in school to southern Minnesota where John and Barb relatives lived. I remember the barn with all the hay up in the loff for a hay fight. It’s been a long time that I haven’t seen her but we will meet again in the after life. She was a heck of a girl. Loved her in my own way. Rest in Pease and God be with you. A Friend Larry Witte (Kenai Alaska)
Barb and I began a deep friendship in grade school. We were in Brownies and then Girl Scouts together. There is so much that I could say on her behalf. Suffice it to say that she was one in a million. I will be forever grateful for the adventures we took together. My life will never be the same because of her loving friendship. Barbie you will be dearly missed. El and John, my sincere sympathy is extended to you both.
Being a daughter of the “Nurses’ Gang,” I recall fond memories of Barb and her family visiting Pickerel Lake, spending Thanksgivings at Fischers’ and even bringing in the New Year with the Millers’ in Waukesha, WI. Barb was full of life and always fun to be around. She was one that never gave up when it came to trying something new. It saddens me to know that she had to fight the cancer that ultimately shortened her life. My sympathy to all her family and friends, Nancy Jacobson
Kevin & I are so thankful that you introduced us and now we are married and just celebrated 5 wonderful years together. Kevin remembers all of the fabulous art projects you worked on together over the years here in Boise. What a talented and gifted person you were. I remember all of the wonderful talks we shared with each other and so thankful to Uncle El for reuniting us. We were more like sisters than cousins. We will miss you tremendously.
Barb was such a free spirit and wonderful person to be around. So giving was her nature. She truly inspired me when I was younger. I will miss you Barb. You always took me under your wings. My condolences and sympathies to all Menssens. We love you Barb.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225 we express our condolences to El Ewert and family.
