I didn’t get down that way much in recent years but when I did, and if ever I ran into Arnie, he made a point to catch up. A very bright man with an incredible memory of days gone by. I will especially miss hearing his reflections on his military service. He was truly a great member of the greatest generation. Rest in peace Arnie. My condolences to your family .
“Non Sibi Sed Patriae”
So sorry to hear about Arnie. He always made it a point to seek me out at family gatherings to talk about electrical work and how my job was going. I think he really loved his career and missed it. He was a wonderful person and I will miss those conversations with him.
To the family- May his memory always make you smile 🙂
Arnie is my brother. I am going to miss him as he was so much fun to share memories with. Between the two of us we had many conversations about people and things in the White Bear Lake/Bald Eagle area. This is where we grew up. Arnie had a lot of insight on many different things. My brother ALWAYS asked me about my sons (5 of them) and how they were doing then he would tell me about how everyone seems to know my son Steven who teaches at Blaine and how much the students like him. Arnie always made me proud to call him my brother.
So sorry for my nieces and nephews and their children, just losing their mom (Shirley) a short time ago and now their dad.
This is a sad time.
I will never forget a wonderful trip that I and several other friends took with Arnie to the EAA Oshkosk airshow. Arnie got a chance to tell a lot of stories about his WWII experiences.
His interest and my interest in computers and electronics always made for great conversations.
You will be missed.
My sympathies to his whole family.
