Austin was a proud Minnesota Army National Guard Veteran serving as a Combat Medic (68W). He was a lifelong fan of all things Internal Combustion, the louder the better. He also loved to engineer and operate complex mechanical systems, from his Yamaha R1 Race Bike to Boiler Heating systems. His passions carried over into his work as a firetruck technician. Other less intense passions included tending to a variety of living things on the farmstead, always progressing towards the goal of creating self-sustainability for his family and others.
A celebration of Austin’s life will be held on Thursday June 27th at 7 PM with visitation beginning at 4 PM at Maranatha Assembly of God, 24799 Forest Blvd N, Forest Lake. Private family interment at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Gofund.me/3046375d.
Austin had the unique ability of being fantastic at whatever he did. In addition, he was the highest quality young man you will ever meet. He was smart, funny, respectful and alway willing to lend a helping hand. He knew how to listen to others who had knowledge gaining him the wisdom of someone far more advanced in age. He was a fighter and never conceded to this horrible disease. Austin was my friend and I will miss him dearly! God bless him and his family…
Austin was always looking to learn how things worked, and he was always willing to share/teach others what he had learned. Even as a kid, he had a passion for all things mechanical, and learning how to go faster!
I will miss watching him race, and I will miss hearing him talk about racing; his passion was clear and it was always interesting to learn from him.
I am so very proud of him for how he handled the past 8 or so months, and he is an inspiration to us all. The amount of people that gave him support is wonderful evidence of a life well lived.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Austin’s military service to our country in the MN Army NG.
With our deepest sympathy.
Austin was always calm, yet at the same time traveled at the fastest speed I have ever seen a human go! Ironic! Loved going to race day at BIR to watch Austin perform. There are not many other words to say at this time except we are truly going to miss you in very many ways. Hugs to all those left behind (for now). We look forward to seeing you when our time is up. Love you, Austin Tschida!

It was always a pleasure to see and work with Austin. We would laugh, and joke about the ordeal we may have been in, but he would always be willing to offer a solution. His calm demeanor and sense of accomplishment never left the situation. The world will miss a great man and so will I. May God bless him and his family.
