Tom Schaber

January 24, 1947 ~ February 13, 2024
Age 77 of Aitkin, formerly of Lindstrom. Loving Husband, Dad, Papa & Brother, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024.
Preceded in death by son, Zachary; parents, Clifford & Dorothy. Survived by loving wife of 49 years, Verna; daughter, Sarah (Michael) Mallak; grandchildren, Connor, Andrew, Madelyn, Nathan; siblings, Mary (Gary) Norton, Catherine (Tom) Edwards, Jerry, Dick, Delores (Gary) Thomas, Donna (Doug) Kuehnast, Irene (Jon) Gotferdson, Kenny, Bobby (Mary Ann), George, Debbie, Sandy (Guy) Kaufman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Tom grew up on a farm, where he would gain a hard work ethic and a love for the outdoors & animals. After high school Tom served in Vietnam and was proud to be a Marine. After returning from Vietnam he became a journeyman carpenter and built homes all over the Twin Cities. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt & fish. Tom and Verna enjoyed their retirement years in Aitkin at their home on Long Lake.
A celebration of Tom’s life 11 AM Monday, February 26th with visitation beginning at 10 AM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment at St. Francis of Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Shafer. Tom's service will be livestreamed here. Tom's military honors ceremony was recorded here.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Tom’s military service to our country as a Marine.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Tom framed our beautiful home in Lindstrom. Our paths crossed many times usually over a hair cut.
