Steven R. Schulz

July 23, 1954 ~ March 8, 2024
Age 69 of Wyoming, MN. Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Friend. Passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, comfortably at home.
Survived by loving wife of 44 years, Diane (Kezar); daughter, Megan (Matthew) Sonnek, their children, Harper son, Collin (Manda), their children, Axel son, Patrick; sister, Melinda (Scott) Franklin.
Steven loved building our cabin with family; fishing, hunting, working on cars, teaching his kids practical lifetime skills, and spending time with family and friends. He is greatly missed!
A celebration of Steve’s life will take place 5-8 PM Friday, April 5th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance.
Steve was a nice quiet guy that having lived next to him the last almost 2 years I realized he would help anyone in need. Great guy, father and husband. You will be missed Steve.
Diane, Megan, Colin and Patrick, please accept our condolences for your loss. Every time I head north on Turtle Lake Road it brings back memories of our former Shoreview neighbors and our children playing together. Steve had left his family and friends much too soon and will be missed by all.
Thoughts, prayers, and hugs to all.
With love,
Mick and Mary Banholzer, Shoreview, MN
We are thinking of you during this difficult time.
Steve was my only sibling, my “little brother”. We shared many happy memories. He is gone too soon! I will hold him in my heart forever.
Dianne and family so sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers and love going your way. Love, Joe and Mary Altstatt
While it is possible to make new friends, it is not possible to make new OLD friends. They’re rare and too few. Steve has been a good friend since high school days.
I found a photo taken at Ox Lake in 1971. The more recent photos were taken in September last year at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rolaag, MN, which is an amazing gathering of people and very old machines, fascinating for Steve and me. Steve loved to tinker with and collect mechanical objects of any and all sorts, especially old stuff from auctions and barn-finds.
I was with Steve when he purchased his first car (for $90), a non-working, British MG-A roadster with a rusted-through frame that his parents allowed him to store under a tarp next to their garage. That was The Summer of ’69, perhaps (like the Bryan Adams song).
Lots of memories. Steve was a great friend. I miss him.
Our sincere sympathy and deepest condolences regarding your loss.
