WE LOVE YOU DAD!
I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Robert’s passing. I will miss him. He had a way of making me feel special. He always remembered details about me or things that were important to me and he would ask me about them when he saw me. I’m sure it wasn’t just me. He treated everyone he met that way. Although the conversation was always light hearted and fun, I sensed a certain caring he had for others by connecting with them in this way. I’m very sorry I can’t attend his service this Friday due to a training commitment at work, but I will set aside a few minutes in the morning to reflect on his passing and think of all of you and the sadness you must feel in losing such a wonderful and kind dad and grandfather. When I think of Uncle Robert, I think of the Fisherman’s Prayer plaque I have at my cabin.
Fisherman’s Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord’s great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Robert’s military service to our nation and to veterans as a Paid Up For Life Legion member.
