Robert Eugene Jones

July 20, 1937 ~ February 2, 2026

Robert Eugene Jones of Stacy, Minnesota passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026 at Ecumen Nursing home in North Branch with family by his side.

Robert, known as Bob to most people, was born on July 20, 1937, the son of Robert & LaVern Jones. He grew up in St. Paul and after graduating high school he joined the Air Force where he transported aircraft fuel. He always enjoyed auto racing and anything that had adventure with it. These combined experiences ultimately led him to a career in the trucking industry, where he worked as an over-the-road driver for nearly 40 years before retiring. After retirement he spent the winter months in warmer climates settling in Florida where he loved to be.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carole Jones; children, Cindy (Jon) Anderson, Lorrie (Ron) Elmquist and Russ (JoAnna) Jones; grandchildren, Diana Anderson, Derek (Jessica) Anderson, Jacob (Ilissa) Jones, Tanner (Krystal) Jones and Sarah (Eaun) Smith; along with 11 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Lavern Jones; brother, Mickey Jones; grandson, Brody Jones; great-grandson, Jacob Anderson.

Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Bob’s life in their own way, enjoying a quiet drive, visiting with a loved one or taking a moment to rest in the fact that you are Loved.

A Private family interment will be held at Stacy Cemetery.

Guestbook

  1. On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Bob’s military service to our country in the Air Force.

  2. I was so sad to hear about Bob’s passing. I absolutely loved visiting my dad, Joe Otto, and his good buddy Bob. They were such good friends and I want you to know that Bob’s friendship provided my dad with so much joy and happiness. I would like you to know that my dad is very sad and we’re not sure what to say to him at this point. It’s hard to live in a place where your friends pass away week by week and you feel even more lonely. I told my siblings that when I would visit dad and Bob and Rodger I sometimes felt like I was in the USO entertaining the troops, I loved it! Bob had a smile that made me think that he was up to something but I was never quite sure what it was. Yesterday I was at Ecumen visiting dad and I really felt blue when I saw their table with Bob’s spot empty. I am so happy that I knew him and I appreciate the love and kindness that all of you showed my dad when you visited yours. I’m going to miss you Bob. Love, Bonnie

    • You said it so true. Mom/Millie is at Ecumen also and Bob’s empty spot is hard to see. He impacted all with his smile and stories!
