Everyone who knew Rex knows what a perfectionist he was, the detail in his finish work could bring any old piece of wood to life. He loved experimenting with new things and tweaking until it was just right. This was not only at work, Rex took pride in everything he did. From preparing delicious meals on his smoker to Q-tip cleaning the vents in his car. Rex’s neighbors may have even spotted him picking dandelions by hand while manicuring his lawn which was commonly referred to as the “19th Green”. Rex loved the outdoors, every day the sun was shining he would take Judy cruising around in the Buggy. He loved those summer days, but the winters didn’t slow him down. Rex had a love for outdoor illumination, he’d spend hours setting up the most beautiful Christmas lights, including his iconic Bumble. He loved his 2 dogs Diego and Buddy and would snow blow a maze in the backyard to make sure they had plenty of room to play outside during the snowy months. Rex loved to watch MN football and hockey, he’d cheer loud for the Vikings, Wild, and the Gophers. Most of all, he loved spending time with family. He was excited to have two little grandbabies to call him Papa. He was so patient when teaching them to dive to the bottom of the hot tub over and over until they were tired. Then go inside to play Barbie’s and read their favorite books together. Rex was an inspiring role model, a wonderful father, and an amazing husband. He left us far too soon, he will be dearly missed by every soul he touched in his lifetime.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Send all memorials to Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake, MN.
