Nathan "Nate" Anderson

nathan

April 23, 1986 ~ September 1, 2019

Age 33 of Forest Lake. Loving Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 1, 2019. Preceded in death by grandfather, Les Ausmus. Survived by parents, Nick & Cherie Anderson; sisters, Kellie (Justin) Glasrud, Megan Anderson; grandparents, Lorraine Ausmus, Stanley & Patricia Anderson; aunts & uncles, Jim (Diane) Ausmus, Ken (Cheryl) Ausmus, Bev (Randy) Rabe, Marilyn (Tony) Wicklund, Wayne Ausmus, Cindy (Guy) Hoelzer, Kevin (Jennifer) Ausmus, Shelley (Perry) Kester; many cousins; special caregivers, Penny Lyon, Pat Parker, Diane Kresge, Megan Gemuenden, Amanda Gemuenden. Nate had a special warmth and light that sparked joy in everyone who had the privilege to encounter his bright smile and contagious laugh. His personality made him so easy to love and care for, even through some of his greatest struggles. Nate showed love in everything he did. Through his smiles, laughter, antics, and expressive nature, one comes to understand his language. He loved being outside, cruising in his bright blue chair. Of all his relationships, Nate especially loved his family. He would light up whenever they came home. He would giggle when Nick would pick him up and tickle him, smile at Cherie when she shared stories from her day, and grin at Megan from his wheelchair whenever she came home from school. Nate was exceptionally content when everyone was together, like when Kellie, Justin, and Karl would come for a weekend. Nate was resilient. He was a fighter. A listener. He was expressive, kind, loving, and every so often, mischievous. When he hit you with that crinkle-eyed grin and chuckle, you knew that he was up to something! You are a light among us, Nate. You will always have a special place in our hearts. A celebration of Nate’s life 12 PM Saturday, September 7th with visitation beginning at 10 AM at Roberts Family Life Celebration Home, Forest Lake.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’m so sorry to hear of Nathan’s passing. I remember him as a very sweet boy in my third and fourth grade classes. One of his favorite things to do was sit with his friends while they read to him. Nathan was loved by all of us at Forest Lake Elementary. Julie Larson

  2. Cherie and The Anderson Family, Just heard when I got to work this morning about Nate’s passing. My heart aches for you and your family. I’m so sad that I missed seeing you guys last week when you were in clinic. It was always a bright spot in my day when I was able to see and take care of Nate. He will be greatly missed. Rest now, Nate……. Guen Gosiak, (Nate’s Lab Tech)

  3. Nate always enjoyed his visits with us at the lake. He loved being outside and watching all the excitement including the dogs. He willed be missed so much and in time our tears will turn to smiles with thoughts of him. God bless Nick, Cherie, Kellie, Justin and Megan. Love you guys! Tony and Marilyn

  4. My deepest sympathies to your family. I know you don’t know me but my name is Heather Roberts. I had the pleasure of having Nathan in my class from 1-4th grade. I enjoyed sitting by him (I use to move my desk closer so he felt as included as possible). I use to make an extra art/craft project in class and put it in his backpack so he could bring one home. I loved his smiling face. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
