Mildred Mae Hill (Covey)

August 3, 1927 ~ January 1, 2021
Age 93, of Forest Lake. Mildred passed away on January 1, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband Reuben, son Jerome, parents John and Inez Covey, sisters Ella Weerts and Mary Jahnz, and brothers Charles, George, and Richard Covey. She was born August 3, 1927 in Sterling Township in rural Blue Earth County. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Lesley (Ronald) Heil, Carol Hill, son Eric Hill and grandchildren Ronald Heil III and Sarah Heil, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mildred was an active member of the communities that she lived in during the course of her life and served as a volunteer in many church and civic capacities. She was a talented pianist who could play many songs by ear. Mildred was a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and taught high school English in Lakefield and Ceylon, Minnesota. She was also a substitute teacher in Frost, Elmore, and Blue Earth, MN. Her most cherished accomplishments, however, were raising her four children, spoiling her two grandchildren, and caring for her mother as she grew older. She also was especially close to her five siblings and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed many travel adventures with Reuben.
A celebration of Mildred’s Life will be 1 PM Sunday, January 10th at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Memorials are preferred to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
