February 23, 1953 ~ August 11, 2024

Mary Louise Lindstrom passed away on August 11, 2024, joining her beloved husband Craig Lindstrom in eternity. Although she departed this world after losing her 8-year battle with dementia, she leaves behind a spirit full of love, forgiveness, and perseverance to all who knew and loved her. Born on February 23, 1953 in St. Paul, Mary was one of five sisters and graduated from Archbishop Murray Memorial High School. She lived most of her life in the Twin Cities area before she and Craig built their retirement home on beautiful Bad Medicine Lake in northern Minnesota. Mary, to all who knew her, was sassy, witty, loving, and most of all determined. She lived life to the fullest, with a wide range of hobbies that included reading novels, watching Kevin Costner movies, weekly bowling leagues, playing cards, dinners with friends, hosting holiday parties, traveling, water skiing, ice fishing, deer hunting and much more. Mary was a light to any room she walked into and enjoyed laughter and time spent with family, especially during her favorite holiday of Christmas. Later in life, her and Craig enjoyed hosting many family and friends at their home in northern Minnesota and built close friendships with their lake neighbors. Although impacted by dementia later in life, Mary was never absent for those who knew her and never lost her desire to help those around her. Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eva & Leonard LaCoursiere; husband, Craig Lindstrom; and sisters, Edith Hilmas, Joyce Levine. She is survived by her children who she loved dearly, Christopher J. Rossi, Jodi Rossi, Sean Lindstrom (Amanda), Christopher Lindstrom (Abra); grandchildren, Taylor, Katy, Michael, Josh, Brody, Jaxson, Oakland, Henrik and Anneli; her sisters, Doris Lueneburg, Denice Robertson (Jim); and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, September 14th with a visitation from 1-3 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home in Forest Lake. There will also be a small celebration of life planned at a later date for her northern neighbors from the lake area.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in our prayers during this difficult time. May God’s comfort and peace surround you.

  2. I have very fun memories of going to the cousins homes on Sundays. My dad had a big family and Mary’s mom was dad’s sister. Mary always had the same personality even when she was sick. Sorry for your loss.

  3. Dear Mary,
I wish I had known you before you came to Elk Ridge, but there we had a good time at the “feeding table”. You always wanted to eat the dessert first and took your time enjoying it. I was privileged to get to know you a little more through the stories that Doris and Denise told me. You have a wonderful family and the good memories will help them in this time of sorrow.
    Love, Karin Magill- Cuerden
