Kristopher John Pierre

March 26, 1976 ~ January 8, 2023
On Sunday, January 8, 2023, Kristopher John Pierre, a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, and Father passed away at the age of 46. Born on March 26, 1976 to Gerald and Patricia Pierre. He spent much of his time in Northern Minnesota helping to build his family cabin where he met Kathleen, who became his wife. They spent 21 years together and had two beautiful children, Madeline (19) and Logan (16) Pierre. He ran a successful stone and tile company for 20 years in International Falls.
Kristopher lived his life for his family and the outdoors; he spent his time hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, and taught his children to love these as much as he did. He truly enjoyed the sport of hockey and spent countless hours playing, watching, coaching, and cheering for his favorite team, especially his son. He was full of life, love, and pure excitement. He lived hard, played harder, and loved the hardest.
Survived by his Family: Wife Kathleen (Gorman), Daughter Madeline, and Son Logan Pierre. Parents: Gerald and Patricia Pierre (Finger). Siblings (Niece/Nephew): Sister Connie Pierre (Eva and Ky Semlak) and Brother Robert Pierre (Lorelei and Luca Pierre), Niece Brittney Hansen (Pierre). Along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. Preceded in death by his Brother Dean Pierre, Nephew Zachary Pierre, and Grand Parents Roy and Eva Pierre and John and Grace Finger. The Family is having a private Memorial, contributions in memory of Kristopher may be made to the family at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.

Kris, or “Pepe” as we called him, and I played hockey together. He was my defensive linemate in high school. He was the kind of guy you wanted on your team! We had lots of fun, laughs, and trouble together! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen eachother but one day we will pick up right where we left off. Kris will be missed.

Q: How did you meet Kristopher?
A: I first met Kris through my son Joe, while they were in High School. Those two were always pushing the limit, and having fun doing it.
More recently, I experienced two incredible journeys with Kris and other family members. In 2016, Kris and Joe led an expedition on snowmobile from The Falls to the north shore. We spent 3 days moving fast through the wilderness. When we arrived in Schroeder, Kris pulled out bags of his classic chicken wings. It was a great feast after a two hundred mile journey! He saved me from rolling into the ditches several times. A great outdoorsman.
In 2017, again with my son and family, Kris and I drove to Alaska. It started out with Kris calling the female Canadian guard sir, then bragging about how he carried a high caliber hand gun. Needless to say, the patrol spent the next several hours ripping my camper apart and fining us for carrying too much beer.
Near Cook Inlet, we ran into a guy with a small rubber boat, that could barely carry 3 people. Kris snagged a big fish that pulled us around the sound for about an hour. We lost that one but did end up with a few nice halibut shown in attached photos. We caught a lot of fish and hauled it back in a freezer clamped on the back of the camper with a generator running. I’m amazed with didn’t lose it all.
A fitting finale was our last day in Canada. We had to empty the holding tank. Unfortunately we placed the hose in the wrong hole. It erupted and covered me with crap. Kris was unscathed. We laughed the rest of the way home, hoping that the hole was not the city water supply.
Thanks Kris for all of the great memories!
Greg
