Kenneth A. Blanchard loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 1, 2025. Ken fought a long and courageous battle against ALS and Parkinson’s disease; and his strength through this journey reflects how extraordinary he was.
Preceded in death by parents, Erwin & Ruth; brothers-in-law, Pete Peterson, Sherman Harrison, Harold Stoffel, Joe (Elaine) Stoffel, Tom Stoffel; sister-in-law, Louise (Russ) Drangstveit.
Survived by his loving family- Grace, his wife and best friend of 57 years; his children, Carleen (Tom) O’Gorman, Annette Blanchard–Ferrigno (Mike); Troy, and, Michelle; his grandchildren, Dominique, Emmanuel, Conner, Claire, Kyle, Sean, Julia, Ryan, and Kenya; his siblings, Phyllis, Kathy, Gary (Laurie), Mike (Sandy), and, Don; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and dear friends.
Together in marriage, Ken and Grace built a home filled with friendship, love, laughter, and welcoming warmth. They helped start the co-ed Linwood softball league, where Ken’s love of community, sports, and good fun came to life. He was an avid outdoorsman who felt most at peace in nature. He loved hunting and fishing, and he took great pride in caring for his yard and home.
Ken truly cherished his travels with his wife in their conversion van, exploring new places and creating countless memories along the way. Ken was also a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman. He was awarded a Purple Heart and the Presidential Unit Commendation for his service and sacrifice to his country.
Above all, Ken was a hardworking and dependable man who proudly provided for his family. He had a deep and steady faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His kindness, quiet strength, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone who was blessed to know him in this life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of calling him family or friend.
Visitation 5-8 PM Tuesday, December 16th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, December 17th with visitation beginning at 10 AM at the Church of Saint Peter, Forest Lake. Interment with military honors, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the ALS Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
