Karen E. Ketchel

Age 81 of Lindstrom. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 6, 2025. Karen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Karen was married to loving husband James for over 59 years. She loved her family immensely and her life revolved around her 3 sons. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, extended family and friends. Whether that meant dining out at new places, road trips, camping, attending special events or an occasional trip to the casino. She was not shy and would bring her unique sassy wit and humor throughout her life experiences. Karen was fond of spending time with and caring for animals, with a particular affection for dogs. Karen also found joy in simple pleasures like reading a good book, working on a puzzle, or relaxing on a porch soaking in the tranquility of nature. Karen is survived by husband, James; sons, Todd (Maria), Brian (Janine), Danny (Jennifer); grandchildren, Brittney (Joel) Fischer, Joe (Kylie Culver), Courtney, Alex (Caylee Klug), Cole Sorenson, Wesley Sorenson, Lily Sorenson; great-grandson, Blake Fischer; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, Howard W. and Irene McCarty, brother Howard J. McCarty. Special thank you to the staff at Fairview Meadows TCU for providing warmth, kindness and excellent care. A celebration of life is planned for 11 AM. on Saturday, April 26, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chisago City with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment, Chisago Memorial Park Cemetery.
