Jerry Saunders
September 28, 1924 ~ February 7, 2025
Age 100 of Forest Lake. Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa & Great-Grandpa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 7, 2025.
Survived by loving wife of 78 years, Marilyn; children, Dean (Janet), Steven (Patricia), Debra (Michael) Bushman; grandchildren, Lisa, Brett, Nicole, Troy (Jeannette), Rebecca, Blake (Jennifer), Brooke (Joseph); 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Jerry was a proud World War II Navy Veteran and survived storming the beach at Normandy.
Jerry’s life will be celebrated with a private service. Memorials preferred to Forest Lake Veterans Memorial Fund.
On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, we give thanks for Jerry’s military service to our country in the Navy.
And on behalf of the Veterans Memorial Committee, we thank you for the donation and more coming donations for our area Veterans Memorial which will be much more than just the current pavers.
Jerry was a friendly and dear neighbor in the Grand Oaks Townhome neighborhood. In visiting with him, his humor and pride of his age, as well as being a veteran always came out. At one time he questioned why I was driving a Honda since it was not American made. Now that is pride in America and I admired that in him. I thought he was a darling man and he is missed.

I didn’t knowJerry but I salute him for fighting for our freedom. I do know his son Steve.
